Help Support LB295

The Nebraska Legislature is in session! And Archbishop Lucas, Bishop Conley, and Bishop Hanefeldt invite all Catholics to be faithful citizens and advocates on a vitally important piece of legislation that will be considered by our elected state senators. LB295 gives more low-income and working-class families the financial means to choose an education that best meets their children’s needs. LB295 enacts a tax credit for private donations to nonprofits that would provide K-12 private-school scholarships for poor and working-class children. The Bishops invite you to contact your local state senator and graciously ask them to support LB295 and provide educational opportunity to our low-income and working-class families. To learn more about LB295 and how you can put your faith into action through the political process, please visit www.necatholic.org. Pick-up more information on your way out of church or sign the letter that is in the back of the church and we will send it on to the senators. God bless your faithful advocacy!

Blessed Sacrament School Fundraiser

Blessed Sacrament School is trying to raise funds to replace the playground surface.  Over 18 years ago, the current playground was installed.  Unfortunately, today, pieces of the eco-friendly rubber surfacing, made from recycled tires, has started to wear away  To protect the safety of our students as they enjoy the fresh air while playing on the playground, we need to act now to make the playground safe and hazard free for our children. If you are interested in donating to this important project, please consider an online donation during the month of May.  Go to https://givetolincoln.com/nonprofits/blessed-sacrament-school and donate.  All gifts will be made larger by generous Lincoln area donors, and are fully tax-deductible.   If you would like to donate, but do not want to give online, your gift can still be increased if you donate on May 31 – Give to Lincoln Day (before 5pm).  Call Stacy at the school office for more information: (402) 476.6202.  With your generous support, we hope to raise $38,000 by May 31 so that we can resurface the playground during the summer months to ensure a safer playground when school begins in August. Thank you for your donation!  Ask your family and friends to donate!

Saturday, the 28th of April at 8:00 a.m. we will be working on scraping paint on the rental house next to the rectory. We are in need of volunteers to come and help, all the supplies will be there, we just need manpower. This is a great way to get service hours for school families, High School kids and anybody that just wants to help out. A parishioner that has a painting business will be doing the painting, thank you for that. For more information please contact Marshall Ford at marshall_ford@live.com or 402.617.6466 to sign up to volunteer.

Sat., 1:30-4:30 p.m. we will be planting our vegetable garden and cleaning up flowerbeds, as well as cutting down trees. Helpful items to bring include gloves, pruning shears, clippers, wheelbarrows, shovels, rakes, pickups, chain saws and energy! Children are also welcome! Mark your calendars now and contact Sister Mary Angela at sr.mary-angela@cdolinc.net if you would like to come and help. Villa Regina Motherhouse, 4100 SW 56th St., about 2 miles west and south of Pioneers Park.
